Sept. 30th Sunday

Tonight I did a simple out and back on the east side of Fiesta Bay.  I was exhausted after a very long day in PV for our meet but our kids did very well with the highlight being the Frosh girls dominating the competition!  Boys and girls ran together and many of our girls were beating boys!

Here are some photos I took with my iPhone 3 so not great quality but better than nothing!

Here is Madi & Gabby who were the only Frosh left to stand on the podium to receive their 1st place bobblehead trophy!

Here is Izzy, Jenny, & Angela accepting their 2nd place JV race plaque.

Here is the whole girls squad group photo.  As you can see, Everyone who raced has some hardware  around their neck!  Great job!

Total Miles:  1573.59   Pace Runner:  1506.25   +  67.34 miles  If I can finish our season up at least 60-70 miles ahead of pace, I will be content!

Love to all the Parkinson's and cancer patients out there!  I'm still running for ya! <3

  1. Still so proud of you, Mr. R! I think about you every time I go out for a run with my running buddies!
Today, I was looking through this box I brought with me to college - magazine articles, pictures, etc. - my little box of motivating quotes! I found this old Nike ad that's an old favorite... and it's kind of similar to the pic you posted on facebook today haha. I didn't know if you had seen this one, but I thought I'd share:

"You pretended the snooze button didn't exist. You dragged your butt out of bed while others slept. While others ate their pancakes. You had a feast of protein, glucose, and electrolytes. You double-knotted. You left the porch light on and locked the door behind you. You ran. 5Ks, 10Ks, 26.2 miles. Some days more, some days less. You rewarded a long run with a short run. And a short run with a long run. Rain tried to slow you. Sun tried to microwave you. Snow made you feel like a warrior. You cramped. You bonked. You paid no mind to comfort. On weekends. On holidays. You made excuses to keep going. Questioned yourself. Played mind games. Put your heart before your knees. Listened to your breathing. Sweat sunscreen into your eyes. Worked on your farmer's tan. You hit the wall. You went through it. You decided to be a man about it. You decided to be a woman about it. Finished what you started. Proved what you were made of. Just keep putting mile after mile on your internal odometer."

Still so proud of you! I can't believe how far you have come and how much you have accomplished. You're heading into November already, and... wow what a journey you have been through. Thanks for inspiring - keep on inspiring - stay strong to the end!!

    1. You don't know how much your comments mean to me when you are one of the very few taking the time to write them! I know how busy you are and I hope you know I wish you the very best of success at your new Bruin home! So much of that ad rings true on my journey, skipping breakfast (my fav meal!), heart B4 ur knees, sunscreen in ur eyes, farmer's tan...I can't wait to finish what I started! How much are you running? I hope you can come run with me when I finish this thing over your Christmas break! Take care and thank you so much!
