Thanks so much for the comments! Now I feel like someone is out there paying attention. :) I feel better than I have all week!
Today was interesting, I was getting ready to run after school and went to put on my shoes... they weren't there!!! No big deal, I thought, I'll just go home & run down there. I get home and my shoes aren't there either!!! Yikes! So I sat there & thought for a minute (kinda like in the Hangover, trying to figure out what happened). So I end up doing what my mom always taught me to do, retrace my steps. Took my bag and backpack to my truck, put them in the back of my cab, and there they were!!! My shoe bag fell out of my other bag!
So I run down at Lake Murray and was treated to a fantastic sunset for much of my run over the lake (wish I had my camera on my run, kind of). I literally had a smile plastered on my mug for the last few miles thinking that everything happens for a reason. I am so blessed with great students, friends, family, and a wonderful place to work with awesome colleagues.
Felt pretty good today and ran 6.95 miles in 63 minute & 9 seconds, almost too fast but when you feel good you just want to go! I ask that you spread the word even if you can't donate, I'm sure you know someone who can! Take care and I will leave you with a great Mark Twain quote today:
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor, and catch the trade winds in your sails! EXPLORE. DREAM. DISCOVER.
So proud of you. We will be donating soon! Loved to hear that you ran the hills/trails at CCHS and thought of our precious daughter, Natalie and Amanda. They are running with you always. Love and support- Gabrielle Nield (and our beloved Natalie)
ReplyDeleteThanks Gabrielle! Both Natalie & Amanda push, coax and often drag me to the end of my run! No rush, just happy to have your support. The Nield's are always in our prayers and peace will be yours someday! Take care!
DeleteKeep enjoying your runs Mr. Rickling! You're an inspiration with growing support (I'm sending your blog to my whole family! This is the kind of stuff they appreciate). You rock :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Taylor! Means so much to me and I will keep moving forward with your help and support! Good luck studying for Tuesday. :)
